And Christ said to Peter, "If you love me, feed by sheep" ( John 21:17, NLT) It is the duty of the shepherd to tend to the physical needs of his flock. Christ charged his disciples to "feed my sheep." In considering how to tend the flock, the shepherd knows that "feeding" means more than physical food, it also means tending to the spiritual and emotional hunger as well.
