We Are Hope FAQ

We Are Hope FAQs

Should I redirect my tithe or regular giving to We are Hope capital campaign?

No. Your giving commitment to the We are Hope capital campaign should be above and beyond your regular giving.

What is a first fruits offering?

Proverbs 3:9-10 refers to encouraging God’s people to bring the best of their crops or herds as an offering to the Lord. We are worshipping the Lord by making a sacrificial commitment to his expanded work through We are Hope.

First fruits is the opportunity that we have to bring our largest possible gift toward our 5-year commitment. This will be given Sunday, November 4 during the Sunday services

How Much Should I Pledge?

We recommend making a pledge that is meaningful for you. Consider how the church impacts your life and the lives of others.

Is my commitment confidential?

All giving to Hope United Methodist Church is confidential, including giving to We are Hope capital campaign.

What if my financial situation changes?

We understand that our congregation holds diverse resources, and we encourage you to make a meaningful pledge now that you feel good about fulfilling. If you need to increase or decrease an existing pledge, contact Carol Romanowski at or 727-372-4689.  Your decision to change your commitment should be done only after much prayer.

Will I be billed monthly for my pledge?

No. We will be counting on you to meet your pledge commitment in a timely manner. Your gifts may be given via the mail or during the Sunday morning service offering. If giving via check please write We are Hope in the memo section of your check.

What happens in the event that more or less than the outlined goals are committed?

We will certainly rejoice if more than the original goals are committed, as there are other opportunities we will be able to finance to help us grow into the future. This will give us the resources to do additional projects. In the event we do not meet our goal we will reassess, we will modify our building plans to suit a revised budget.

What is expected of me?

Most importantly, seek God. Ask questions and be informed. Take time to prayerfully consider what kind of sacrifice God is asking you to make. “Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice” best describes Hope’s understanding of biblical stewardship. Not everyone can make a million-dollar gift, but everyone can make a sacrificial one.

Will I receive information about my payments?

Beginning January 2019 you will receive quarterly statements showing your pledge progress.

 How is the money managed?

Money donated to the We are Hope capital campaign is managed between the finance and building teams, working in concert to provide the best facilities we can with what is provided.
