2010 Activities & Events
WiNK: Wednesday's from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. This action packed 1 1/2 hours of fun in our Lord's house has recreation, devotionals, puppets, snacks, singing, playing, a treasure box & plenty of time for our kids to fellowship with one another! Come join the fun - check the church calendar or be sure to pick up a Children's Newsletter with any dates we may not have WiNK.
Daddy & Daughter Evening: On Friday evening February 12th from 6:00 - 7:15 PM our Dad's and Daughter's of all ages are welcome to join in the fun & take part in a special dessert planned just for them. Dress up if you would like, there will be pictures taken for you to keep the memory of this special date! Thursday February 11th we will plan to have the girls start to get things ready for their Dad's from 4:00 - 5:30 PM. Please sign up at the Connection Center or contact Christy for further details.
Salty Service Club: This new club is for all ages. We are ready to put the word in to action!!! Our first meeting will be Saturday March 13th at 11:00 am to discuss all that will be happening with the Salty Service Club. We will be visiting shut-in's, planting flowers and serving inside and outside of the church as part of our Salty Service - are you in?

JOURNEY TO EASTER: PLAY & FAMILY BLANKET PICNIC:
Our Journey to Easter will begin with our first practice:
Friday March 19th: 6:00 - 8:00 PM followed by only one other practice on March 26th from 6:00 -8:00. CD's will be handed out to practice the music at home! Our performace will be Palm Sunday March 28th at 4:30 followed by a family blanket picnic on the front campus lawn & a dessert potluck! Please invite your friends and neighbors to join in this very special Easter Event.
Easter Egg Hunt: We welcome all in the community to join us for our HUMC annual Easter Egg Hunt on the campus lawns of HOPE! This event will be held on Saturday March 27th beginning at 2:00 PM. There is no cost involved and children from toddler to 6th grade are welcome to join the hunt!
Women of Hope will hold a BAKE SALE during the Easter Egg Hunt to help raise funds for children and youth attending the Warren Willis Camp in July, 2010. Please HOP-ON-BY & join the fun!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: BLAST OFF for VBS this year - the week of JUNE 21st - 25th HUMC will host:
Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God! LET EVERYTHING THAT BREATHES PRAISE THE LORD! PSALM 150:6
This week jam-packed with amazing worship and awesome fellowship is offered to those who are 3 years (potty trained) to 5th grade! Our youth "space cadets" from 6th - college age are welcome to be crew leaders for the week! Be sure to pick up a registration at HOPE or print from the web-site and return NO LATER then JUNE 1st! *early discount applies for those turned in prior to May 1st.
SUMMER DAY CAMP: Beginning Monday June 28th through Friday August 20th, 2010 HUMC will host a weekday camp from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. This eight week camp for elementary age children will be full of fun and fellowship! There are limited openings available for each week that the camp is open. Sign up early to reserve your spot!!
Cost: There is a one time registration of $20 per family to reserve your camp weeks.
Weekly fee: $75 for our 6 hour session from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, and $90 for our 8 hour session from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. *please contact our offices if you are in need of care prior to 9:00 am and/or after 5:00 PM to discuss this option.

MOVE UP SUNDAY: Kids from 3 years thru 5th grades will be moving up to new classes! Our former 5th graders will be moving on to the BRIDGE class for middle school students that is offered on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 service.

Presentation of 3rd Grade Bibles: Bibles presented to our Sunday school students entering 3rd grade in the Fall of 2009 from Pastor Kelly & Pastor Anne during the service Sunday morning. TRUNK OR TREAT: Fun for all with biblical or fall-harvest theme's for children to "trunk or treat" on the HUMC campus. Pumpkin Patch pre-school visits are also available during this time in our Patch, where we read, paint faces and pick out a pumpkin! Hanging of the Greens Children's Crismons craft: Kids will enjoy making traditional Crismons of white biblical symbols with gold glitter and gold ribbon to be hung on the tree as we hang the greens in preparation of Christmas. Children's Christmas Play: To celebrate the true meaning of Christmas our Children of Hope present the story of the first Christmas with a play and music. Followed with a potluck supper. For more information regarding this event, please contact Christy Murdoch 372-4689 ext .11.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT: A night out for parents and a night in for the kids! Attendees enjoy both fellowship and devotion time at each gathering. Activities are planned for each age group. PARENTS "DAY" OUT: Saturday November 27th 2:00 - 7:00PM - pre-registration will be required
A requested donation of a small toy for boy or girl for the Holiday Tent & for canned food for Volunteer Way's food pantry, as well as $5.00 to cover the cost of snacks and a pizza supper per child. Plan on getting your Christmas shopping, wrapping and baking done & we'll watch the kids!
